Aluminium Composite
Aluminium composite sheets, also known as ACM, Dibond or Alupanel are a versatile material used in the UK for various applications, including signage (sign trays), kitchen splashbacks, printings, partitions, retail displays and much more. Available in 2440mm x 1220mm and 3050mm x 1500mm sheet sizes and are also available in a wide range of colours with a matt, gloss and brushed finish on either side. This material offers a versatile and cost effective solution for a wide range of applications, combining the benefits of lightweight, durability and ease of fabrication.
Key characteristics and applications
- Composition – aluminium composite sheets are made by bonding two aluminium sheets to a polyethylene core.
- Lightweight and rigid – the combination of aluminium and polyethylene creates a material that is both lightweight and rigid, offering excellent strength to weight ratio.
- Weather resistance – aluminium composite sheets are weather, impact and corrosion resistant making them an ideal choice for outdoor applications.
Applications
ACM panels are used for;
- Signage and signtrays, creating long lasting and eye catching signs for businesses and events.
- Interior design , used for splashbacks, partitions and wall covering exhibition stands. Offering a lightweight and versatile solution for creating displays.
- ACM sheets can be easily cut, routered, drilled and folded, allowing for various design possibilities including fret cut sign trays which we can manufacture in house.
- Suitable for screen printing and UV digital printing, making ACM sheets ideal for signage and other printed applications.
Advantages
- Durability – ACM panels are known for their durability and ability to withstand various weather conditions.
- Cost effective – ACM panels offer a more cost effective solution compared to other alternatives such as stainless steel or solid aluminium
- Various brands – ACM is available in multiple brands such as Alupanel, Dibond and Skybond, allowing a wider choice of finishes and colours.
- ACM offers a flat and smooth finish, ideal for printing and other applications requiring a consistent surface.
- The material’s lightweight nature makes it easier to handle and install compared to heavier materials dimensional stability.
- ACM exhibits minimal expansion and contraction, even under temperature fluctuations.
- ACM panels offer good thermal insulation, which can be beneficial for energy efficiency.
- ACM is easy to clean and offers minimal maintenance.
